Beryl General Information
Beryl refers to all varieties of beryl group. Beryl is
resistant to all chemicals except fluoric acid.
Beryl is a brittle stone and therefore easily damaged by knocks, and
have a vitreous lustre.
Bixbite: Strawberry-red beryl.
Golden Beryl: Colour varies between lemon yellow and golden yellow.
Inclusions are rare.
Goshenite: Colourless beryl, is used as an imitation for diamond
and emerald by foiling the cut stone with silver or green metal foil.
Heliodor: Colour varies between lemon yellow and gold.
Morganite: Soft pink to violet beryl, also called pink beryl.
Beryls are usually emerald cut. Due to the richness of colour,
confusion is possible with many gems.

Where Beryl is found
Beryl is found in South America, Ural mountains (Russia), Afghanistan,
Pakistan, India and Southern Africa.
